Repair of the old plaster

The plaster can be destroyed and crumbled for various reasons, the most likely of them are the shrinkage of the building, moisture and temperature in the room, poorly carried out work or the use of poor -quality building materials.

When many layers of paint are applied on top of the plaster, an entire layer is formed over time, which can then fall off with part of the plaster. Before starting the repair of the plaster, you need to carefully study the entire surface, this can be done by tapping. Also, a visual examination is very important here, since you can find small cracks at the stage of emergence until they spread throughout the wall. If the sound is empty, then this indicates that in this place the plaster has already moved away from the base and a serious repair is required here.

A layer of old exfolved plaster is removed using building tools, then the wall surface is prepared and a new solution is kneaded. The old paint that covers the plaster layer is completely removed. This process is very laborious, since the paint moves away from the wall is not very easy. After applying a new layer of plaster, tubercles and irregularities can occur, so you need to carefully check the evenness of the wall until the plaster has completely dried.
